Introducing the ATHENA International “Enlightenment Tour”
Do you know what it takes to be a digital nomad in today's world? That's just what Traci Costa (formerly Corey), President and CEO of ATHENA International, intends to find out with the ATHENA International Enlightenment Tour.
Traci downsized from her apartment in California to life on the road, and has decided to dedicate the next year of her life to traveling and being enlightened by ATHENA's base, while at the same time expanding its reach and therefore its impact - via automobiles, trains, planes and even boats!
The purpose of this tour is to strengthen relationships with our Communities around the world and amplifying their leaders through our network and our brand new YouTube channel, which we will be sharing with you very soon!
Along the way, we will re-introduce ATHENA International programming and give it a wider audience. For instance, did you know that through one of our fantastic network partnerships, ATHENA International has delivered "The 8 Principles of Enlightened Leadership" to more than 600 women in the last three years, and counting?
Plus, many corporations and organizations interested in expanding their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts are now asking for our Allyship Leadership Training Programs, which were designed for men but are open to anyone, focused on how to be an active ally not just for women, but for all marginalized individuals.
Traci is so excited to meet with with ATHENA Community members, interview ATHENA Award recipients and ATHENA Leadership Program Alumni. She is excited to listen to their input, learn from their insights, helping to bring stronger bonds, Community relationships and ultimately, a more enlightened ATHENA International. Traci says, "ATHENA is a catalyst for developing diverse, transformative leaders worldwide through our leadership programs that ignite, inspire and celebrate girls, women and allies. If we are going to accelerate gender parity, we must all stand and work together. ATHENA is the place where enlightened, diverse and inclusive leaders and allys come together to create lasting, impactful change in this world."
We caught up with Traci at the end of March as she loaded up her well-loved champagne colored SUV, affectionately named "Goldie", with rolling bins and bags, containing everything she needs to live for the next year in VRBO's, hotels, AirBnB's, and on trains and boats. True to Athena's goddess traits of wisdom and crafts and ever the strategist, Traci intends to blend work with self-care, sports and meditation. Along with her on her journey is her trusted paddleboard Nike, named after Athena's best friend and charioteer, secured to the top of her vehicle. The tour starts by visiting Arizona and Nevada, followed by Utah, Colorado and into Kansas by mid-April. Before summer is over, Traci will have been through California, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, New York, France, Northern Italy and more! Talk about an ODYSSEY!
