FALCONE AND HELLER HONORED WITH SECOND ANNUAL ATHENA LEADERSHIP AWARDS
Christina Falcone of Adecco North America and Judith Heller of the North Shore-LIJ Health System were recently honored for outstanding leadership with the ATHENA Leadership and Young Professional Leadership awards. Falcone received the ATHENA Leadership Award and Heller received the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award at a breakfast ceremony attended by Long Island business and community leaders. The ATHENA awards recognize exemplary women leaders who have achieved excellence in their business or profession, served the community in a meaningful way, and actively assisted women to achieve their full-leadership potential.
“Christina and Judith and all our nominees are role models for other women who are building their careers on Long Island and we are delighted to present them with these distinguished awards,” said Theresa Ahlstrom, partner at KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, and event co-host. “The Long Island business community has a wealth of strong women leaders. All of our finalists are outstanding women who are making exceptional contributions in their organizations and communities. Together, we will work to actively foster other women in leadership positions throughout our business community.”
Falcone, director of Financial Shared Services and Treasury at Adecco Group North America was honored with the ATHENA Leadership award from among other finalists including: Judith Beckman of Financial Solutions, Barbara Cataletto of Business Dynamics Limited, and Beth Meixner of Moxxie Network Foundation. In addition to Heller, senior director for Ambulatory Network Development for the North Shore-LIJ Health System, the other finalist for the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award finalist was Karen Micciche of Literacy Nassau.
Joyce Russell, president of Adecco Staffing U.S. was the keynote speaker for the event which was held at Oheka Castle. Russell spoke on the importance of women and diversity in leadership, and the qualities that will help women advance. Ahlstrom co-hosted the ceremony with Humera Qazi, director, both from KPMG’s Long Island office.

ATHENA Leadership Award – Christina Falcone
Christina Falcone is the Director of Financial Shared Services and Treasury at Adecco Group North
America, the world’s largest recruitment and workforce solutions provider, where she has worked for
the past 14 years. Prior to Adecco, she worked for nearly 10 years in various Finance functions, including assistant treasurer, at Staff Builders. She is also an Alumnus of Deloitte & Touche. She is a CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant, licensed in New York State and is an active member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and New York State Society of CPAs. Falcone is a proactive member of Adecco’s Diversity & Inclusion Business Council. She plays an active role as an organizer of many of Adecco’s charitable events including Dress for Success, Make a Wish, Reading Relay and Take your Child to Work Day, raising awareness and significant monetary benefits for each cause. For more than 10 years, Christina has volunteered for the Holbrook food pantry including food drives, coat drives, blanket collections, school supply collections, Adopt-a-family and dozens of collections for single moms needing assistance.
ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award – Judith Heller
Judith Heller is the Senior Director for Ambulatory Network Development for the North Shore-LIJ Health System. For more than ten years, Judith has worked to implement strategic initiatives related to process improvement, change implementation, operations management, and resource allocation. Heller, an active member of the Port Washington community, is the founder of the NSLIJ Running Team which encourages employee wellness and is actively involved with the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, the Hispanic Counseling Center, and the Port Washington Parents Resource Center. Judith holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from the University at Albany, and a master’s degree in business administration with a focus on healthcare administration from Baruch College.
