NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
THE CRITERIA
ATHENA Leadership Award Nominees must meet each of the following three
criteria:
- Demonstrate excellence,
creativity, and initiative in their business or profession.
- Provide valuable
service to improve the quality of life for others in their community.
- Actively assist women
in achieving their full leadership potential.
ATHENA
Young Professional Leadership Award Nominees are emerging women leaders who meet each of the following criteria:
- Demonstrates
excellence, creativity, and initiative in her business or profession.
- Provides valuable
service to improve the quality of life for others in her community.
- Clearly serves as a role
model for young women both personally and professionally.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous ATHENA Leadership Award Recipients or ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award Recipients are
not eligible for nomination; however, past nominees may be re-nominated.
- ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award Nominees have a
minimum of seven years of professional experience.
- ATHENA
Young Professional Leadership Award Nominees
may represent either the profit or not-for-profit sector, and must work in the Charlotte area.
- ATHENA Leadership Award: Corporate Nominees must be employed by an
organization in the for-profit sector within the Charlotte area. Service Nominees must be employed by an
organization in the not-for-profit sector within the Charlotte area.
- There is no minimum or maximum age qualification
that must be met by ATHENA Award and AYPLA Nominees.
COMPLETING THE FORM
- You are encouraged to
work closely with your nominee to complete their nomination.
- Nominations for the
ATHENA Leadership Award and ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award must be submitted using these nomination forms.
- You may include no more
than five additional pages of supporting documents (such as articles,
testimonials, etc.) with the completed nomination form.
- Deadline for submission is August 9, 2013.
THE PROCESS
A
selection committee, made up of a diverse group of community leaders, will
review all nominations and select an ATHENA Leadership Award: Corporate
Recipient, ATHENA Leadership Award: Service Recipient and ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award Recipient. The
Recipients and nominees will be honored at the Charlotte ATHENA Leadership Awards Reception on the
evening of October 3, 2013 at the Charlotte Country Club.
