Since 1994 ATHENA International Leadership Summits have provided an unparalleled opportunity for established and emerging leaders from across professional sectors to network, share ideas, develop and enhance leadership strategies for women in the 21st century.
The 2010 summit marks the 16th annual ATHENA Leadership Summit. Its focus will be on leading authentically, the ATHENA Leadership Model and, more specifically, how attendees’ individual and collective brands of leadership are informed and strengthened by it.
The ATHENA Leadership Model is based on an extensive study of hundreds of women leaders who have received the prestigious ATHENA Leadership Award across ATHENA’s global footprint. While ATHENA Award Recipients represent diverse backgrounds and hail from all professional sectors, each has been recognized by their communities for professional excellence, service to the community and active assistance in helping emergine leaders achieve their full leadership potential. From this study eight core principles of leadership were identified and the ATHENA Leadership Model emerged. The model incorporates the personal traits of strong, successful leaders and captures the spirit and collaborative leadership style often exemplified in women leaders’ unique ways of knowing and leading.
The leadership principles that make up the ATHENA Leadership Model and session topics follow:
Authentic Self: Having an inner clarity of purpose
