Women Leaders from All over the World to Convene for ATHENA International’s 16th Annual International Women’s Leadership Summit April 5 – 6 in Chicago
CHICAGO – March 22, 2010 – “Advancing Women’s Leadership:  Leading Authentically” is the theme of ATHENA International’s 16th annual International Leadership Summit, which will be held April 5th and 6th at the Renaissance Hotel in Chicago.  The annual event attracts women leaders from all over the world.

A highlight of the summit is the presentation of the Global ATHENA Award to four exemplary leaders whose body of work has positive national and/or global impact for women and girls.  The Global ATHENA Award is ATHENA’s highest honor and its presentation one of the Summit's long-standing and most anticipated traditions.  Among the previous recipients have been Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, NPR’s Nina Totenberg, and former Congresswoman Patricia Schroeder.

Receiving the 2010 Global ATHENA Award are Doris Christopher, Chicago, Founder & Chairman of The Pampered Chef; and Dr. Mulu Muleta of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Senior Medical Advisor, Women & Health Alliance International.  Jessica Faye Carter, Founder & CEO, Nette Media; and Carolyn Kepcher, Founder, Work Her Way, will receive the 2010 Global ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award.

The summit provides an intimate forum where attendees hear outstanding speakers and experience informative breakout sessions while networking with other leaders across professional sectors.  The emphasis on a holistic approach to leadership, as contained in the ATHENA Leadership Model, makes the summit unique among leadership seminars of its kind.
